VOS Orchid Display at Bloedel Conservatory

History

The Vancouver Orchid Society Installation was made in partnership with the Bloedel Conservatory in November 2025. This installation provides Vancouver residents the opportunity to learn about the incredible diversity and beauty of orchids. Orchids comprise 10% of all seed plants, and they are among the largest plant genera in the world. Over 100,000 hybrids having been produced to be enjoyed from over 8,00 genera. From lush tropical rain forests to the arctic tundra, Orchids have adapted to survive almost every corner of our world. Many orchid species are threatened by human-related activity like climate change, deforestation, and poaching, and we believe that increased orchid education, awareness, and appreciation will help protect these plants for generations.

Learn to grow amazing orchids and become a member of the Vancouver Orchid Society today!

This project was funded by the Vancouver Botanical Gardens Association
